Meet the founders.
Another Year Stronger is co-founded by Clare Simpson and Kim Wathall.
The two met at a personal development event in 2023, and Clare later became Kim's personal trainer.
What started as a training relationship grew into a genuine friendship, built on a shared belief that fitness is a lifestyle choice that supports physical and mental health, and should flex around the life you have.
Over the past few years, their shared passion for women's health, fitness and wellness has grown into this platform: a way to give more women access to quality coaching, support and community, without the high costs, rigid programmes, pressure and judgement that so often come with it.

Health and fitness has always been part of who I am. But once I had kids, working full time and making time for myself felt impossible. Whether you're a parent or not, adulting has a way of grinding you down, and exercise is often the first thing to go when life gets busy.
Eventually, I decided to get back into exercise because I wanted my body back, but I quickly realised it was giving me so much more than that. It was giving me head space, and building my strength and resilience far beyond the gym.
For me, that's what Another Year Stronger is all about. Helping more women to access the tools and guidance they need to make time for themselves, and get stronger physically and mentally without the pressure of needing to be perfect all of the time.
At AYS, I'm building our brand and community, creating content, and, most importantly, listening to you, to make sure we're helping you become even stronger than you are now.
Alongside AYS, I run my own marketing consultancy, working with brilliant healthcare brands. I'm also studying for my Level 3 Personal Training qualification, specialising in pre- and post-natal and peri-menopause training so I can be part of the coaching community too.

I’ve always loved tech, from teaching myself to code as a kid, through a career in IT and wearable technology, and most recently healthcare AI. I’m still full-time in that world today.
Alongside it, I’ve always been active. I danced from age three to eighteen, then took up running until a knee injury ended that, and leaned into cycling. It was discovering a local warehouse gym, and working with a PT there, that I fell in love with strength training.
I trained as a PT myself, first just to understand my own programming better. Along the way, I realised most of the research and coaching education I’d been taught was based on male bodies. Then I found people like Dr Stacy Sims and Molly Galbraith, who were building an evidence base for women’s bodies specifically, and what they need to do differently to train well. Women’s bodies are more complex than men’s. They deserve to be studied and coached on their own terms, not treated as a smaller version of the male default.
I went on to complete Dr Stacy Sims’ Women Are Not Small Men course, along with Girls Gone Strong’s pre- and post-natal and women’s coaching specialist certifications. I started coaching a few clients alongside my tech career, and loved it.
At Another Year Stronger, I’m Head Coach: I lead program design and set the coaching frameworks that sit behind everything we deliver, making sure the guidance women get here reflects what the research actually says about their bodies. Alongside Kim, I’m building a place where clients and coaches can meet for properly evidence-based support, without judgement, rigid plans, or a one-size-fits-all approach borrowed from someone else’s biology.
